The museum possesses numerous bladed weapons, firearms, uniforms as well as a magnificent samurai's
armour and a strange collection of wax heads which is unique in Europe.
The samurai's sabers (tanto, wakizahi and katana) are among the oldest
weapons in the museum (5-6 centuries). One can also find swords from the
Napoleonic period and magnificent Arab daggers. The museum also has a crossbow from North Africa with its poisoned arrows.
The collection includes remarkable firearms: Arab rifles from
the 18th century with their stocks decorated with ivory in such a way as
to allow the rank of the owner to be determined, dueling pistols with their stocks of mother-of-pearl or of silver, the prototype of
the first pistol of the French police force, double-shot flintlock
