It was on the way to his vacation in Corsica that Maurice
Dufresne discovered this steam tractor, dating from 1907, in a pond near Marseilles.
It had belonged to the army and had served to pull military equipment
during World War I. After the war, a farmer from Chartres bought it and
added a plow before selling it to an entrepreneur in the south of France.
A special crane had to be brought in from Toulouse to remove the 13-ton tractor from the pond and transport it from Marseilles to Marnay. |
