It was while looking to buy a tractor from World War I that Maurice Dufresne saw this plane in a hangar belonging to one of the members
of the Blériot family.
It took some time before that person decided to let him have it, knowing
that it would be in good hands with an enthusiast like Maurice Dufresne. |
This plane was partially restored by "Ailes
Anciennes" (Antique Wings), an association which wanted to acquire it as
a model for identical reconstruction projects. The plane was exhibited
in the Musée de l'aviation in Paris.
According to its manufacturing number, this plane could have
been used by Blériot for his crossing of the English Channel
in 1909... |
