| | The collection of
vehicles, agricultural equipment and utility vehicles of the museum is
impressive. To be noted are the tractors André Citroën from
1919, Lacro from 1902 and Titan (USA) from 1902, the roller originally
from Chicago from 1933, the Case steamroller (USA) from 1907, the Laffly mechanical road-sweeper from 1911...
The museum houses numerous trucks, cars
and motorbikes which thrill the visitors: the GMC
truck with the museum colors, the Peugeot
electric car, the Buick that chauffeured Maréchal Pétain,
a George
Irat car from 1939, a Morgan from 1950, Ford truck, as well as numerous fire fighting vehicles .
A few unique models are also exhibited such as the Boutin
motorcycle or the Benjamin motorcycle .
The Blériot
style plane from 1909, exhibited in the hall having that name,
could have been the one used by the aviator to cross the English Channel,
the glider in the hall Big Bull is the one used
in the film "La Grande Vadrouille". The
autographs of Bourvil and De Funès testify to the fact.
Lastly, the museum doesn't house only motorized
vehicles. One can admire horse-drawn carriages, a barouche bought
from the city of Paris which carried Louis XVI and which contained documents
from that period found during its restoration, a Russian
sleigh which Maurice Dufresne brought back from Russia on the roof
of his Peugeot 404, the baby carriage of Prince Charles... |
