Manufactured in 1890 by "Millot Constructeur" in Gray in the region Haute-Saône, the front part of this engine is an eight horse Millot locomotive. Found in Vierzon (Cher) and exhibited in the Museum Maurice Dufresne in Marnay (Indre-et-Loire), it is the only example know in France. This steam operated machine was started in order to operate the machine that is seen in the background on the left in this photograph.

But what is that machine? A bean thresher, a wine-making sorter or a cereal thresher used for initial test plots?

Answer: it is a Braud bean thresher manufactured in Saint-Mars la Jaille (Loire Atlantique at that time called Loire Inféreure) in 1920. Transported to the harvest area, it was run by a Millot steam locomotive.
